Super Moon, 5th of May
  • Look out tonight the 5th, and into early hours of the 6th of May and you'll see the Moon at pedigree, the closest to Earth the Moon gets in its orbit.

It will also be exactly at full phase, so check it out close to the horizon tonight (5th) if you can for that added Moon illusion.

The Moon will be 40% larger, and 30% brighter than a full Moon when furthest from Earth in its orbit.

    Clear skies !
  • wish i didnt have a big house obscuring my view.but the moon looks great always.my scope,a vintage greenkat 3" reflector using a 3X cheapy barlow lens coupled with a 6mm eyepice,it will do for now but i look foreward to saving pennies for a better instrument.
  • It's a shame it was cloudy here!
  • Loads of clouds in essex for the last week ~X(
  • Bloody clouds last night.. clear skys tonight.. soda law!
  • the moon looks pretty big through the clouds tonight.
  • the moon has been amazing to watch over the last few nights first time i have seen the moon through my telescope could not beleive the details and for it to be a supermoon it was extra special
  • i must be unlucky i missed it all the super moon etc ..every night for over a week we av had cloud cover and some rain too...just itching to try my new tal -1 telescope out..however theres a few breaks in the clousd at moment so fingers crossed when its dark enough i can go av a looksee....if it clouds over again tonite i`ll go nuts lol
  • i know it gets really frustrating when the clouds come over but its worth it when they clear i cant wait to go camping in the summer and just lie under the stars fingers crossed the rain and clouds will stay away :D
