• Bad new,the CPRE say that the goverment have missed a chance to have transport owners ie/rail,truck,bus depots and jails,etc control their light pollution.I wonder if dark sky preserves will condem the rest of us to light pollution ghetos.Although itd be complex how about a much higher tariff for those wasting electricity ie/churches,castles,sports grounds,etc,would pay a lot more if they chose to light up their buildings/grounds at night?
  • Light pollution is the easiest pollution to clean up, they just need to turn off the damn lights...problem solved.

    Yes you'd think now in these financially stretched times that businesses/councils would be sorting out this wasted light energy problem, to save money. Even as energy bills continue to rise, everything churches/bridges/buildings are still being flooded in lights to the max.

    I think it will take a whole new attitude change, and the new dark sky parks getting news coverage can only be good.
