Bad new,the CPRE say that the goverment have missed a chance to have transport owners ie/rail,truck,bus depots and jails, etc control their light pollution.I wonder if dark sky preserves will condem the rest of us to light pollution ghetos.Although itd be complex how about a much higher tariff for those wasting electricity ie/churches,castles,sports grounds, etc, would pay a lot more if they chose to light up their buildings/grounds at night?
Light pollution is the easiest pollution to clean up, they just need to turn off the damn lights...problem solved.
Yes you'd think now in these financially stretched times that businesses/councils would be sorting out this wasted light energy problem, to save money. Even as energy bills continue to rise, everything churches/bridges/buildings are still being flooded in lights to the max.
I think it will take a whole new attitude change, and the new dark sky parks getting news coverage can only be good.
