Walking back from the pub Bank Hol Mon.nite[only had 2 pints so no fear of dropping my binocs!}.Thin cloud and full Moon but managed a look at the Coathanger Cluster in my 8x20 binocs..It seems its part open cluster part asterism but why do folk always knock it claiming its not a true open cluster?It is in part!

The coat hanger is a great cluster to look at through your binoculars, it has a distinctive shape, and covers a large area.
There's no knocking it, it is just technically known to be an asterism rather than an a true open cluster of stars all born from the same interstellar cloud...which doesn't detract from it at all :-)
