• Anyone have much luck making out M4 well?Saw it from the countryside inbetween Oxford and the villages of North and South Hinksey, using my 8x42 monocular but u need averted vision even though its bright its so low and just over Abingdon with its light pollution.Saw M5 too, very easy but much higher up.
  • Not tried that one yet, have a lot of light polution where I am.
  • That's a toughy, it hangs right above the light glow of Liverpool for me. It doesn't stand a chance.

Yeah, one for the dark places I reckon.
  • My girlfriend lives in Liverpool I do the odd bit of star gazing when I arrive late from Sefton Park, which sadly has street lights thru it [perhaps so criminals can see to size up their victims and ofcourse the light will have the added advantage of illuminating the victims escape route so the criminals can see where theve run to!?}.The southern part of the park is darker and Ive seen Antares from there but never M4.
