Refractor or Reflector
  • im just getting into astronomy, im interested in looking at the planets, ive got a spotting scope which is great for looking at the moon but not up to much when looking at the planets, i can see 4 of jupiters moons and just see saturns rings with it. im looking at buying either an skywatcher 90/900 Refractor or a skywatcher 130 Reflector as my first step up from the spotting scope(20x60x70), which of these scopes would give me the best results. cheers dave
  • I would say a 130 reflector, I use reflectors for visual astronomy and a refractor for imaging.

  • Thanx Ray, ive been looking at Reflectors, and from what ive read the 150 would be worth the extra money, so i think my mind is made up, just need to save the pennies now. cheers Dave
