old telescope,new eye piece

just bought a 4mm eye piece,.965" to go with my old 3" reflector i was a bit dubious at first as the 6mm i have isnt the greatest,all i can say is awsome i thought the image would be blurred but it is fine and i could really make out the bands on jupiter well impressed barlow next me thinks.

Will a good eye piece really make that much difference i'm quite new to all this i have a Sky Watcher EQ2 5" reflector it came with a10mm 25mm wide angle and a barlow x2 i would to see the bands on Jupiter Any surggestions.
