Hello, I recently got a Bushnell Ares 5" Dob but I can't get the finderscope to stay on the scope and when I do get it to stay on the scope for more than a few minutes I can't adjust it without it falling off again. I know I am doing something wrong but can't figure it out. I can't find anything besides Jupiter and the moon in the scope without the finderscope. Another quick question. The scope is 650mm and I have a 10mm and 25mm eyepiece. I would think I should be able to see Jupiter much better than I do. I don't see anything close to being bands and am really unsure if what I think are the moons really are as they are not really lined up from the planets equator but more up and down. But any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Karl. I have seen this video. Still can't get the finderscope to stay on the scope though. I have just ordered a 2X barlow and a 6mm eyepiece so I will let you know if it helps with the views. Would Jupiters moons be lined up more diagonally than straight from the planets middle? Probably a dumb question but I just can't tell if what I think are moons are really stars close by. I can't see with naked eye so can't tell if they twinkle or not.
