Hi ragwert I am useing a skywatcher D114 - F1000 . I've bin trying the all the different lens it came with its so cool. Find it little hard trying to focus Jupiter. ? Adam.
Hi Adam. I have a Skywatcher 150-f1000 Refractor. On a good night i can see the bands on Jupiter. I am sure anyone on this site will tell you apeture is king ( a bigger scope is better ) . I also have a Greenkat 22 x 60 refractor half what yours is and it shows Jupiters 4 big moons well if you cant focus on Jupiter itself admire its moons as they move around. Clear skys Colin
Thanks Colin Well I am completely new to astronomy so I am leaning all the time maybe if had none I would I got bigger scope but I am happy with what I brought at the moment. I am going my first astronomy club night on tues night looking forward to that thanks bye.
I made this video tonight 28/01/2012 and noticed what appears to be lights flashing on the moon. I don't know what this could be but it looks a little strange. but look to the far left of the video and to the middle of the screen just out side the shadow area. if anyone knows what this is let me know. i could also see this shine threw my telescope which prompted me to make this video.Three more videos to come. www.facebook.com/Backyardastronomy
