After sunset-Venus is visible blazing brightly in the west/north-west
See Mars in the south/south-west, lying beneath the base of the lion in the constellation of Leo
Early evening-Saturn rises in the east, to the north of the bright star Spica in Virgo
Dusk 22nd May-See the very thin waxing crescent Moon 4 degrees south-west of Venus, low in the north-west.
Sunrise 6th June-Last part of transit of Venus will be taking place as the Sun rises, UK. (Do not look directly at the Sun, or use any kind of optical aid to view the Sun as eye damage can occur)
Just before sunrise 17th June-See the thin waning crescent Moon just 1 degree north-east of Jupiter low in the north-west. Rising from 3.15 am (GMT+1).
Early hours of 15th July-The waning crescent Moon occults Jupiter as they rise from 2 am (GMT+1) in the north-east. The Moon also lies between the Pleiades, Venus, and Aldebaran.
Pre dawn hours of 28th & 29th July-Delta Aquarids meteor shower, weaker for northern hemisphere (See Meteor Showers page).
